Extraordinary Space Deserves Extraordinary Lighting SolutionsJune 2020

Lanier Technical College the foremost workforce development resource in northeast Georgia, commands attention with its spectacular views of the campus, the adjacent Ramsey-Fraser Lake, and the surrounding foothills of the north Gainesville area. Entrances, terraces, and windows all share advantageous views of these assets.

When the university recently began the process of a very impressive and cutting-edge design overhaul of their 325,000 square-foot campus at their new Gainesville location, they chose prime design professional Pond, in association with Stevens & Wilkinson, to create a meaningful and impressive environment with their interior design, furnishings, and fixtures.

The project included the creation of a ballroom layout serving as a primary meeting venue that could also be sub-divided into smaller meeting rooms. The ballroom/meeting rooms had a combined seating capacity of 920 and also linked directly to the storage facility, support, and catering kitchen.

Lumetta was considered first and foremost as the lighting solution supplier for the job, engineering and manufacturing 36 elegant custom two-tiered Drums, 8 Xina Drum Pendants, and 8 matching Xina sconces, as well as 9 Silhouette sconces.

Each of the three families had a characteristic and specific look, however, because all of Lumetta’s collections gracefully complement each other, this installation, including beautiful amber lighting, offset and dramatically enhanced the organic look of the facilities.

Lanier Technical College was extremely pleased with the ambient lighting that was both striking and inviting for everyone who utilized the new space.

Lumetta’s Taper Pendants Chosen to Illuminate Global Communication Giant’s Corporate CafeJune 2020

ViaSat, a fast-growing global communications company located in Carlsbad, CA, recently completed a massive expansion on the East Campus of their global headquarters. The project encompassed 23 acres and brought their total footprint within the city to 1.1 million square feet between their 17 buildings. The company employs more than 2,500 workers in Carlsbad and nearly 5,500 globally, making it the largest development in the city of Carlsbad.

ViaSat worked with Robinson Brown Design, one of the foremost interior design firms in San Diego, in planning the impressive development. The company expressed their desire to create a custom, iconic space that would engage their employees. They wanted to mix playfulness and productivity within the extent of their colleagues’ environment.

Incorporated into the plans were features such as co-labs outside employee offices, a 4-acre courtyard with areas for hammocks and outdoor meetings, and a restaurant that would change its look to match the daily cuisine; all making for a lively and appealing atmosphere.

Within the scope of this project, ViaSat, additionally built a 5,000 square foot dining and lounge area, complete with 5 food stations, that provided the employees with a secluded area conducive to discussions or spending time alone.

The ViaSat Café encompasses an impressive 5,000 square feet and includes a stage and flexible architectural elements. The modern touches align with the high tech company’s feel while remaining warm and welcoming. Although they are not consciously noticed, the subtle design aspects, such as air flow and lighting were a considerable part of the project. The designers wanted the cafe to be illuminated with a soft, warm lighting that would be dramatic on its own, but subtle enough to showcase the architectural effort and create a modern, well-lit, energy-efficient and comfortable eating environment.

Lumetta was contracted to fulfill this dream. Our tapered cone pendant lighting solution with handcrafted metal and our own Lumenate® shade was chosen, designed and fabricated to provide the warm amber lighting that worked so well within the natural and organic surroundings. The fixtures added to the ambiance and relaxing atmosphere, and were the perfect complement to the wood furnishings.

The installation of Lumetta’s successful, energy-efficient lighting solutions completes the innovative and forward thinking ViaSat’s vision of employee-focused, high-tech and beach vibe themed environments.

OCS Lighting & Control is the preferred agency for this project.

Lumetta Selected to Illuminate Burnsville High School’s Flexible Learning AreaApril 2020

Beginning in 2016, Burnsville High School, located in Burnsville, MN began hosting students from grades 9-12. To accommodate this new wave of pupils and continue to provide the necessary education required to prepare over 2,500 students to be ready to enter the real world, new classrooms, flexible learning spaces, science rooms, activities space and more were added to the school.

Site demolition and other construction was required to accommodate this venture. Minneapolis architects ATS&R, a firm experienced in creating functional and sustainable academic environments, was brought in to design settings that would be adaptable to long term educational changes and allow accommodation of various learning styles.

The floor plan for a public area known as “The Commons” provided for a setting where students would experience an environment similar to being in college or workplace surroundings.

Lumetta was chosen to design and fabricate the lighting solution for this flexible learning area, which consisted of 3-story high ceilings and large, glazed, modern art deco windows flooding the space with natural sunlight. In keeping with the clean postmodernism style, Lumetta created massive 18” x 96” custom box pendants with glare-free and soft glowing luminous alabaster complexions and an art deco metal finish to integrate within the environment’s atmosphere.

The lighting installation was an enormous success and the fixtures were the perfect complement to the avant-garde architecture; thus proving that the combination of thoughtful high-end design and high-quality craftsmanship will create spectacular lighting solutions.

Prairie Lakes Healthcare Installs Lumetta Lighting in Key Areas for Design and AmbianceApril 2020

Prairie Lakes HealthCare in Watertown, SD was looking to update and modernize their reception, lunch, and conversation areas and to better utilize their existing space. Lighting was given a top priority, not only for the sake of practicality, but also for aesthetic effects. The ambient lighting would serve as both a welcoming and comforting atmosphere for patients and visitors alike. The soft lighting would also give a feel of stability and permanency to the facilities. Ultimately, the hospital chose Lumetta to design and fabricate the fixtures for each of the locations.

The Palindrome pendant lighting that hangs directly over the reception area, was chosen and installed to give a warm and welcoming appeal as people entered the building. The Echo pendants were placed in a small eat-in area, making for an inviting and cozy place to sit, chat and have a coffee. Finally, the L2 pendants were utilized over a seating area in the corridors, where noise reduction was necessary. The corridor areas also included rugs and room dividers that were installed to allow for a semi-private seating area for families. These seating areas made it possible for family members to gather and discuss personal matters amid the bustling within the hospital.

The successful lighting installation for these three areas brought about a sense of ease and well-being to a facility that would greatly benefit from the soothing effects of the beautiful illumination.

Tarramor: Tampa’s Luxury Lifestyle Community Shines with Lumetta LightingApril 2020

Tampa, Florida’s Tarramor is a private gated community of luxurious homes developed by WCI, a leading provider of upscale living in luxury lifestyle communities.

WCI chose to retain Ansana Interior Design, of Winter Park, Florida to assist them in achieving the perfect layout, design and lighting for the lobby of the new development.

Additionally, these luminaires, can be designed for acoustic purposes, deflecting noise and vibration and making the quieter atmosphere that much more dramatic.

The integrated system optimizes the synergy between the handcrafted illumination and superior acoustics. The lighting fixtures are created with welded steel / aluminum frames and washable opaque Lumenate® and acoustical shade combinations.

Lumetta Partners with BIOS and Provides Circadian Lighting SolutionsFebruary 2020

CIRCADIAN LIGHTING SOLUTIONS
Lumetta is proud to partner with BIOS Lighting and offer indoor lighting solutions that are designed to communicate directly with our bodies at the cellular level—regulating our circadian biology and resulting in better sleep, better energy, better productivity and better physical, mental and emotional well-being.

BIOS SkyBlue™ LED technology creates natural sunlight by providing a specific wavelength of light that stimulates circadian biology. While other lighting technologies have attempted to recreate sunlight by offering changes in color temperature throughout the day, they don’t communicate with the body on a biological level.

SkyBlue™ is true circadian biological light that brings the circadian benefits of the sun to your indoor environment. SkyBlue™ provides high melanopic lux (EML) and Circadian Stimulus (CS) in a desirable color temperature and is now available with many of Lumetta’s indoor commercial and architectural lighting solutions. We start with biology and work to create lighting products that deliver the perfect biological energy source that humans and plants need to thrive. Drawing on 3.5 billion years of evolutionary biology, our lighting solutions have cracked the code to natural growth and health.

Fusing BIOS SkyBlue™ LED technology with Lumetta’s exquisitely designed eye-catching luminaires ensures a lighting solution that offers the best of both worlds. It’s now being utilized in commercial sectors such as office buildings, healthcare facilities, retirement communities, universities and school systems.

With Lumetta’s vision, innovation, creativity, and collaboration and BIOS® SkyBlue™ LED technology, we can design extraordinary lighting solutions using the best blueprint in existence—life itself.
