The new Burke County Animal Shelter in Morganton, North Carolina, demonstrates how custom decorative lighting can reinforce a facility’s identity while creating a welcoming environment for visitors, staff, volunteers, and future pet owners.

To support the shelter’s unique design vision, Lumetta customized its Nexus Pendant Lighting into playful paw print arrangements that serve as both functional illumination and a memorable architectural feature. The installation adds warmth, visual interest, and a sense of place while celebrating the shelter’s mission of caring for animals and connecting them with the community.

Designed for flexibility, the Nexus Collection offers architects and interior designers’ endless possibilities through custom sizes, configurations, and layouts. At Burke County Animal Shelter, the collection was transformed into a one-of-a-kind lighting installation that reflects the character of the space while enhancing the overall visitor experience.
